The Vista Twisters are a dynamic, volunteer lead Cheerleading Club who not only compete at Regional and National level but also attend Charity events, School fetes and displays. The Vista Twisters were formed in 2009 by coaches Ruth McDade and Karyn Palmer, who had a vision of creating something innovative and exciting that would be open to all young people regardless of ability or age.
The Vista Twisters have grown into a successful child-oriented club operating a ‘Sport for All’ Ethos from September 2009, which saw the Vista Twisters preparing for their first regional competition with a squad of 12, aged 8-14 years. In 2010, the Vista Twisters were awarded the ‘Sponsor Award’ at the Regionals sports awards under the heading ‘Outstanding Dedication to Sport’. More opportunities arose in 2011, as the Vista Twisters supported local football matches, the opening event of the Deal Indoor Tennis Centre and 19 other charity and school events. 2012, the year of sport, has seen the Vista Twisters grow even further, now with a Junior and Senior squad, 6 different Stunt teams, 3 different Trios, a Development Squad of 15, whilst still providing a recreational class for all children aged 4-16 years. Many chances for competitions throughout the year helps the team build character, and is very rewarding.
The Vista Twisters feel passionately about promoting the sport of Cheerleading and supporting the local community. Over the last year, they have performed at 28 different events across the Dover district – a real example to Sport and young people in Kent! Based mainly in Dover Lesiure Centre, we train every Thursday, but also have regular training sessions in Dover Gymnastics Club. Please contact us for more information.
